RSS setting up arsenals in temples, says Kerala minister

Thiruvananthapuram: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been trying to set up its arsenals in temples in Kerala, state devaswom minister Kadakampally Surendran said.
In a Facebook post, the minister Monday said he has received several complaints about organizations, including the RSS, holding unauthorized activities in temples under Devaswom Boards.
"I have been receiving various complaints on the illegal activities conducted by the organizations, including RSS, in temples under the Devaswom Board. Under these circumstances, it is necessary to allay the apprehensions in society," he said.
"Temples are centers of faith and rituals. The RSS is trying to set up its arsenals in temples by conducting their sakhas (daily meetings) and martial training there. This will keep the believers away from temples," the minister said.
He added that the government would not allow temples to be transformed into centers of anti-social activities that would cause fissures in the secular fabric and peaceful atmosphere of society. He said action will be initiated on the complaints.
