Earlier this month, the Supreme Court had adjourned the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s original suit on wanting administrative control of Delhi which was filed on June 29.
The Delhi government informed the Supreme Court that it will file a Special leave Petition (SLP) against the high court order within a week.
The apex court will hear AAP government’s original suit and SLP against the Delhi High Court’s judgment on interpretation of Article 239 AA of the Indian Constitution.

The AAP-led government recently suffered a blow as the Delhi High Court had declared that the Lt Governor has administrative control of Delhi. In a series of tweets, Kejriwal said, “Why centre not clearing names suggested by SC collegium? Does centre want BJP lawyers to be appointed as HC judges?… Shocking how centre interfering in judiciary and stalling it.” He also retweeted many articles and comments on the SC’s admonishment to the Centre.
