LDF govt in Kerala is anti-Hindu, alleges BJP

Kozhikode: Calling the CPM-led Kerala government 'anti-Hindu', the BJP has urged the Left party to withdraw itself from stances challenging the traditions of the land and let temples function freely.
BJP state general secretary M.T. Ramesh Monday said the chief minister who opposed making 'pookkalam' (flower rangoli) and the minister who is lighting 'Nilavilakku' (traditional lamp) are the 'anti-Hindu faces' of the government.
Ramesh was referring to chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan's diktat against government employees using office hours for Onam celebrations and PWD minister G. Sudhakaran's statement that lighting of 'Nilavilakku' and religious prayer should be avoided at government functions.
The BJP leader said the CPM was following the lines of the Muslim League which views 'Nilavilakku' as a religious symbol.
Ramesh said the CPM's stance on entry of women into Sabarimala temple was also against the Hindu beliefs. He said the CPM should leave Hindu worship places alone.
"The CPM should offer Hindus at least the freedom to choose where should they celebrate Sri Krishna Jayanthi," he added.
