Fire breaks out in Ernakulam general hospital | pix

Kochi: Fire broke out in the intensive care unit (ICU) of cardiology department at Ernakulam General Hospital Monday, spreading panic among staff and patients.

However, there was no casualty as the fire and rescue services personnel doused the flames in a quick operation. The patients who were admitted to the ICU were shifted to surgical ICU.

It is suspected that short circuit set out the blaze.
