Sad Sunday for Alappuzha: 4 killed in two separate accidents
Alappuzha: Four persons who traveled by two-wheelers were killed in two separate accidents on national highway in Alappuzha Sunday.
In the first incident, three youngsters were killed in Haripad after their bike collided with a car around 12.30 am Sunday.
The victims were identified as Muhammad Savith (26), Noushad (Sajeer) and Anas, all natives of Thakazhi. The mishap happened when the bike, carrying the three youngsters, collided with a jeep in Haripad.
All the three youths died on the spot. Their bodies were shifted to Alappuzha Medical College Hospital.
In the second accident, a woman pillion rider died after the scooter she was traveling in collided with a pickup van at Kareelakulangara around 8.30 am.
While Savithriamma (52) died in the accident, her husband Viswanathapillai, who was riding the two-wheeler, was rushed to the Alappuzha Medical College Hospital with severe injuries.
The family hails from Pathiyoor in Alappuzha.
